Trailytics Privacy Policy

Read the Terms of Service

1) Who we are

Trailytics (“Trailytics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a web-based platform that helps users upload and analyze trail camera photos and related metadata to generate insights and forecasts.

2) What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you:

Visit our website,

Create an account,

Upload photos and related data,

Use analytics, forecasts, maps, or weather features,

Contact support.

3) Information we collect

We collect information in three categories:

A. Information you provide

Account information: username, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and optional profile info.

Uploads: trail camera photos you upload and any notes/tags you add (e.g., property name, camera location).

Locations you configure: property/location names you enter and any coordinates you choose to save.

Support requests: messages and any attachments you send to us.

B. Information collected automatically

Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, timestamps, referring pages, and interactions with features.

Cookies / similar technologies: used to keep you logged in, maintain preferences, and help us understand platform performance.

C. Information generated by the platform

Derived metadata: detection results (e.g., deer present), counts, timestamps (including those extracted from images), confidence scores, and analytics/forecast outputs.

System logs: job processing logs and error logs associated with uploads and inference operations.

4) How we use information

We use information to:

Provide the platform’s core features (uploading, detection/classification, analytics, forecasting).

Authenticate users and secure accounts.

Store and display your configured properties/locations and associated results.

Improve model accuracy and platform performance (e.g., debugging and reliability).

Communicate service-related messages (e.g., password resets, security notices).

Prevent abuse, detect fraud, and enforce our Terms.

5) How we share information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only in these situations:

Service providers: cloud hosting, storage, email delivery, monitoring/telemetry, and other vendors that help us operate Trailytics. They are authorized to process data only to provide services to us.

Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights/safety, investigate abuse, or enforce our Terms.

Business transfers: if Trailytics is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction (with appropriate protections).

6) Your uploads and privacy

Your uploaded photos and derived results are used to provide your account’s features. We treat uploaded content and results as private to your account unless you choose to share them.

Important: trail camera images may include sensitive details (e.g., location, people). You control what you upload and what locations you save.

7) Model training and dataset usage (MVP language)

By default, we use your uploads and generated results to provide services to you.

If we ever use customer uploads to train or improve generalized models beyond your account, we will:

describe that clearly here, and

provide an opt-out (or opt-in) mechanism where appropriate.

(If your current roadmap is to exclude “flagged inaccurate” items from analysis datasets, you can also add: “Items flagged inaccurate are excluded from analysis/forecast datasets.”)

8) Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

Authentication and security,

Session management,

Preferences,

Basic analytics and performance monitoring.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Some cookies are required for the platform to function (e.g., login sessions).

9) Data retention

We retain information for as long as needed to operate the service and comply with legal obligations. Retention may vary by data type:

Account data is retained until you delete your account (or as required by law).

Uploaded images and derived metadata are retained while your account is active unless deleted.

Operational logs may be retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

10) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit, and secure credential handling). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

11) Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

Access, correct, or delete certain personal information,

Request a copy of your data,

Object to or restrict certain processing.

You can delete your account using the platform’s account deletion feature (where available). You may also contact support to request help with data requests.

Trailytics is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can address it.

13) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, if changes are significant, provide additional notice within the platform.
